You can find the cheese to go with the wine in Armath, on your way to Gjiri i Lalzit. On your left, a small sign will indicate “Djath Dhie” – the shop is just on the side of the street. The owner – another Albanian that has worked in Italy before – has brought 150 French goats and produces its own goat cheese. We tasted all the cheese: the very fresh one and the most mature one. They are delicious !
For more local taste, you can try the honey. Everything in this shop is made within 3 – 4 kilometers. The owners live in the house nearby. To make sure you’ll find the shop open, call +355 68 36 77 445.
This time, we would like to recommend Taverna Kulla ! Not that it needs any recommendations. Managed by Ladimir Sulko it is the best-known restaurant in the area. Maybe because it is Mrs Sulko herself that prepares the home-made food. The restaurant offers only products of the area including duck, buttered frog legs, hedgehog, and eel. Yes, all this and more is in the menu. The wine served comes from Kantina Enisa and Kantina Bello. But if you are lucky, there may still some home-made wine left for you.
In the winter period you should reserve especially during the weekend period. To ask for the menu of the day and availability call Ladi at: +355 67 401 0990.
