The “Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu” Winery is the largest winery in the country. It is located on the Rrashbull Hill and lies on a surface of approximately 45,000 m2. Its beginnings are in 1933, where it was created by an Italian family in Sukth, where simple grape processing was done with a modest capacity. In 1957 began the construction of the winery on the Rrashbull hill. The winery got a new area in 1960. At that time the first 3 buildings were completed and this increased production capacity. The extensive construction work continued until 1987, turning it into the largest in the country. The products of this winery have been honored several times with prizes in national and international competitions. In 2001 the privatization of the winery was completed. This privatization gave a great boost to its development. Now the winery owns a 40-ha vineyard in the Arapaj hillside area. All the grapes that this winery sector produces are used as raw material for the production of white and red wines. Skënderbeu produces about 13 kinds of wines and other alcoholic beverages such as Skenderbeu Brandy, Bato Brandy, Raki Moskat, Raki Grapes, Fernet, Ponç Orange, Nekar Primitivo, various liquors, white and red vinegar and balsamic vinegar.
